The third Monday of January, 1/16, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Each year, tens of thousands across the nation honor Dr. King’s legacy through a Day of Service, which can
be thought of as “a day on, not a day off.”
Join us for our annual MLK Day of Service event, conducting trash cleanup efforts along the Vine Trail in Napa. Volunteers will help pick up trash along the pathway and adjacent railroad tracks. In recent years, our volunteers have removed over 1,450 pounds of trash, including hundreds of broken bottles, cigarette butts and other debris.
Meet at 9am (coffee and donuts will be provided) at The Hub Bicycles. If driving, please use street parking, parking at Napa High across the street, or park in the middle parking spaces only (not spaces assigned to other businesses). We will walk together to the Main St./Central Ave. entrance to the Vine Trail and split up into two groups – one heading south to Soscol and one heading north to California. We will be cleaning both the trail and the railroad right-of-way.
What to Bring?
Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, work gloves, and a reuseable water bottle. Sections of the cleanup area may be muddy, so plan accordingly.
