Nominations are open for Bike Commuter of the Year
Even though the coronavirus threw a wrench in our Bike Month plans, we’re still excited to celebrate all of those who ride their bikes to work on a regular basis!
Each year, the Napa County Bicycle Coalition honors two local riders as Bike Commuters of the Year, for their dedication to riding to work or school, and to serve as inspiration to others.
Nominations are open through Friday, July 31st, 2020, and our winner will be selected in advance of our (rescheduled) Bike Month events in September and October.
2019 Napa County Winners:
Our 2019 Napa County Bike Commuter of the Year winners were Aileen Carroll and David Kearney-Brown.
Aileen has been riding a bike for transportation since she attended college in San Luis Obispo, and only remembers when her dad taught her how to ride on a balance bike when she was just 4 or 5 years old.
David is a teacher at Napa Valley Language Academy, and gets excited about the myriad of benefits of bike commuting, including saving money, having fun, and reducing his greenhouse gas footprint.
