Bike Month

NCBC joins the nation in celebrating May as Bike Month. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the simple joy of getting outside and riding a bike with our local Napa County residents. Scroll through this page to see all of the events and resources we have lined up for Bike Month.

Each year, we organize and partner on a series of events and programs to encourage all riders, new and experienced, to hop on their bikes a little (or a lot!) more during the month of May. Here are some things you can do to prepare to celebrate Bike Month in May:

Pledge To Ride – When you pledge to ride your bike for transportation on Bike to Work and School Day on May 15th or anytime during Bike Month, you are automatically entered into our weekly drawing to win great prizes provided by our awesome sponsors. Pledge to ride here!
Bike Champion of the Year – Every year, we recognize one or two Bike Champions of the Year who inspire others to ride through their dedication to bikes as a form of transportation. 2025 nominations are OPEN until March 31 – learn more about what a Bike Champion is and nominate the bike champion in your life here!

BIKE MONTH 2025 EVENTS

Bikefest

Sunday, May 4th (9 AM – 3 PM)
South Napa Century Center

A day-long family and community celebration of cycling, Bikefest offers the North Bay’s largest bike swap meet, dozens of vendors, live music, great food and drinks, contests and games for all ages, group bike rides, a kids bike rodeo, and more! All are welcome to join us for this celebration of life on two wheels.

Bike to Work and School Day (BTWSD)

Thursday, May 15th

BTWSD celebrates the joy of starting your day with a fresh-air, wind-in-your-hair, bike commute to work or school, and is part of the Bay Area Bike to Work/Wherever Day program. Every year, we partner with local groups and schools to hold Energizer Stations countywide from 7 – 9 am with free goodies and snacks to pick up during your bike commute. Calistoga Safety Day Bike Rodeo & Ride

Saturday, May 17th

Join us, Calistoga Parks & Recreation, and other partner organizations at Calistoga Safety Day to learn about all things life safety, including bike safety! We’ll be hosting a kids bike rodeo followed by a family/community group bike ride around town. More details TBA.

BottleRock Bike Parking

Friday, May 23rd – Sunday, May 25th

NCBC is partnering with Bottlerock to provide FREE bike parking on all three days of the festival! Just a short walk from the venue, we’ll be parking bikes with our volunteers at 301 1st Street (entrance at the corner of 2nd & Silverado). Don’t forget to bring a lock! Bicycle parking is open from 11am to 11pm during the festival.

Interested in volunteering? We’ll be giving away a Bottlerock wristband to one volunteer at every bike parking shift (all volunteers will receive swag and our eternal thanks)!
