Step 1) Pledge to ride your bike during Bike Month (May) through our Pledge to Ride form. In the “Why You Ride” question, make sure to mention the Earth Day challenge! You’ll be automatically entered into our weekly prize drawings for great bike-themed prizes, and you’ll be entered to win a special Earth Day Challenge prize.
Step 2) Use the Bike2it! tool, developed by our friends over at Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition, to find destinations within a 2-mile radius of your house, office, or school. If you’re feeling ambitious, make that radius even bigger!
Step 3) Pick at least one destination you normally drive to and switch that trip to biking for the month of May, whether you go there once a day or once a week. The more trips you shift to bike, the smaller your carbon footprint.
Step 4) Use Omni’s Car vs. Bike Calculator to calculate your CO2 reduction for the month of May. Remember: only calculate for bike trips that are replacing car trips.
